What is Teen Patti?
Teen Patti is a three-card comparing game that originated in India. It uses a standard 52-card deck (no jokers) and can be played by 3 to 6 players. Each player is dealt three cards and takes turns betting on whether their hand is the best at the table. The player with the highest-ranked hand at showdown wins the pot.
Teen Patti Hand Rankings (Highest to Lowest)

How to Play Teen Patti – Step by Step
All players place an initial bet called the 'boot' into the pot before cards are dealt. This is the minimum stake for the round.
The dealer gives 3 cards face-down to each player, going around the table clockwise.
You can choose to play Blind (without looking at your cards) or Seen (after looking at your cards). Blind players bet half the amount of Seen players — higher risk, higher pressure.
Players take turns clockwise. On your turn, you can: Call (match the current bet), Raise (increase the bet, up to 4x the current stake), or Fold (surrender your hand and exit the round).
If you are a Seen player, you can request a Sideshow with the player who bet just before you. You compare hands privately — the loser must fold.
The game continues until only two players remain. At that point, either player can call for a Show. Both hands are revealed. The higher-ranked hand wins the entire pot.
Teen Patti Tips for Beginners
- 💡 Play blind for the first few rounds to put pressure on opponents without revealing your strategy.
- 💡 Know when to fold — if your cards are weak (high card only), folding early saves your chips for better hands.
- 💡 Observe your opponents' betting patterns before committing large bets.
- 💡 Don't chase the pot when your hand is clearly losing — it leads to bigger losses.
- 💡 Start with small boot amounts until you understand the table dynamics.
- 💡 A Pair or Color hand wins the majority of Teen Patti rounds — don't wait only for Trail or Pure Sequence.
